P-Cat
Looking through the internet I stumbled onto a model in RC newsgroups. It is a model based on the BVM BobCat/KingCat but it is small and propeller driven. At 36" wingspan and around 22 oz, powered by a Mega 16/15/3 it should be wild! The plans for the original PushyCat are for sale through Traplet publications, but I drew my own.
Here is a picture of Ron Laden's Pushy Cat, he is in Landkey, Devon, England!
I will post pictures throughout the construction, but it might be slow as I have a nuisance called 8 to 5!
The basic fuselage structure is made from 1/8 balsa, the canopy is Dow pink foam and the motor mounts are from 1/8 plywood as is the bulkhead just aft of the canopy, the nose is a lamination of 1/2 balsa shaped by sanding. As it sits now the fuse is 1.2 oz. I will be adding 1/2 oz glass to the fuse so it will be a little heavier.
Here are the templates for what the wings will look like.
Foam cores cut, wing halves joined, saddle cut...starting to take shape!
Starting to look good!
and with wingtips!!
